I just purchased a Escort 20ga turkey gun. Anyone have any experience patterning this gun ? The gun comes with a .565 extended choke, I see Carlsons offers a .575 Longbeard choke. Wanting to try LB #6, or the Federal heavy weight #7. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Carlson .575 extended non ported with Fed HW#7 as a min... FED #9 TSS even better. This recipe is pretty much applies to all Turkish made guns - Escort, Weatherby SA, Mossberg SA, Tristar, etc.
Fl Boss is dead on! I do not have that gun but my buddy patterned one on my property before last turkey season that he had just bought. He had the turkey model with cantilever scope mount. We put a swampfox kingslayer on it and shot Federal TSS #9 and The old Federal HVW #7. The gun is a killer! Good luck
Thanks for the info guys. TF, I also have the cantilever scope model, I will look into the Federal TSS #9. I still have 3 boxes of the HW #7 also. Just have to wait for nicer weather here in WI. (5"-9" snow coming tonight and tomorrow)
Just checking on choke tube thread pattern, I have read the gun takes the Huglu thread, I also read, that some are using a Remington thread pattern. The gun is the Escort PS 20 turkey model. Any help would be appreciated.
