Been looking at some chokes for my Mossberg 835 turkey thug 12 gauge and thinking about the carlsons long beard XR choke because that's what I like to shoot. The diameter is .683 and that seems very open to me when I hear most guys shooting .665 or .660. I looked through all the 838 diameters he has on they're all very open compared to other brand guns. All .670 or higher.
Is this something to do with Mossberg 835/935 threads or the guns themselves? Thanks for any info on the choke or info on the diameter of all 835 chokes I've seen being larger.
I have both a 935 semi auto and an 835 pump. The .675 Indian Creek was the ticket in the 835 and the .683 LongBeard in the 935. Both using LongBeard 3" 1 3/4 ounce #5. Your gun may not like either. Read thru the forums and you will see a lot of users of the .675 Indian Creek in the overbored Mossy barrels. There was not a huge difference in either gun when I swapped chokes just out of curiosity....
Thank you for the info
