Title: 20ga weatherby 459 issue
Post by: scottprice on December 06, 2020, 08:44:55 PM
Guys I got this gun and although I love it, I am having trouble cycling the federal 3 inch TSS loads. I have heard from some folks that federal's actual length of 3 inch shells is longer than other manufacturers 3 inch shells... is this true?

This issue is making me want to load my own 2 3/4" TSS loads... Or I would like to find someone local that maybe I could buy some shells from if they would load some 2 3/4"

A few things... First,  if the gun is new, run a box of bird shot through it to loosen it up, and then clean it good.  If you are still have issues, try the light piston?  all I run is 3in Federal TSS in my SA-459.... no issues.

I've shots few hundred rounds of bird shot and both pistons unfortunately.
