I can't wait to get going. I'm about to do some scouting tomorrow and Thursday. I have 2000 acres to scout so I'll be out there all day more than likely. Hopefully I find what I'm looking for and can get a good setup on the birds. Any tips on scouting so much land? I've ran up on a few birds out there, do I just sneak out behind them and follow them to their roost? I'm new to this scouting stuff.
look for strut zones! tracks on lanes and fields... listen for gobbles on the roost, that helps tremendously
I would spend a lot of time just listening, especially early in the morning and right before dark. If you can find where they roost, this will narrow things down quite a bit.
Agree with all the above, just don't call to them much. It will only make it harder. Just picked up and owl call and crow call for shock gobbles before and after roosting times.
good luck !
Good luck. I've got a few more weeks left. Season dont start until the 28th
