Title: Bow holder
Post by: sbbow on January 31, 2015, 06:06:01 PM
Looking for a new one. Right now I have the one by Primos that sticks in the ground but the bow lays to the side. Thanks for any and all help.

Used to use one of those things that stuck in the ground too but hated them.

Up until last year, I used a product called BowLegs.  They are pretty cheap, and can sometimes be found used for even cheaper.  The problem with them is that they weren't very stable if the ground wasn't hard or nice and smooth.

Last year, I invested in a set of BowStix.  They are a little spendy ($60), but absolutely awesome!  The legs screw together and then fit right into your quiver.  Get to your blind, take the legs out of your quiver, and screw them into the thing.  Your bow is upright and stable as can be..

Ive also seen a clamp-on thing that goes on your bottom limb that seem to work ok, but the problem is that you have to take it off before you shoot, so it involves one more step.

Do you only hunt in a ground blind?

x2 on the Bow-stix...they are absolutely awesome. You would have to litterally try to kick it over to get a bow to fall.

Be safe,

Nathan

Thirdhand Archery sells a bow holder that sticks in the ground and holds the bow very well.  It is similar to the bow holder that he sells to bolt on to tree stands.  Check out his website.  He posts a lot on the Acherytalk website.

If you hunt in a ground blind and do not move it then this one is excellent, you will fill the bottom with sand to keep it stationary. The only thing I would suggest is adding some moleskin to dampen the noise a bit, that may not even be an issue for you, my left hand does not work quite right and that may be my problem. https://thesportingshoppe.com/product/apple-archery-stand-by-bow-arrow-holder-practice-stand/
