Title: choke reccomendations...
Post by: mightyjoeyoung on April 16, 2011, 11:57:20 AM
Ok, I picked up a bunch of heavy 13 3.5" 2 1/4 ounces #5 loads...cheap.  They're the older stuff and as NOBODY around here carries #6 or #7 shot loads (idiots), I couldn't pass on them for what I paid.  Question...shooting an 835 with polished, chrome lined, barrel, with what little more work could be done to the forcing cone.  Its posted amazing numbers with 2 1/4 ounce Mag Blends through a SSX .670 so what choke do you think I should run to get good numbers?  I currently have a jellyhead .690, a trulock .680 ported, and an older, polished lohman longshot .680.  I'm a little leary about running heavy 5s through the longshot as it is an older choke.  I am also picking up a PG for grinns and giggles too as I have this sickness where I have to tinker with loads and chokes... :z-guntootsmiley:

I got just the choke tou need to get if it is still there.

I'll send it to you in a pm.

It should rock with those 5's.  The tighter chokes won't shoot the 5's as good.

Stick with a .680 on the 5's and even 6's in Hevi-13 loads.
