sounds pretty good..try bloodwood. ceramic sounds great in bloodwood. It's a dense wood so you have to open it up a little. but awesome sound.
I might give that a try.
Walnut seems to be popular with ceramic also
I thought about Walnut also.
Got some blood wood in today. I think it will make a good ceramic call.
