Hey guys. Now before I show yall this pattern I need to tell you something. Ive been on this forum for 2-3 years now and most of yall know me and know Im not gonna lie to you one bit. This same combo last year gave me 138 in the ten. Ive never seen a lead pattern like this at 40 yards. Specs- Mossberg 535, Indian Creek .660 choke, Winchester High Velocity LEAD 3.5 inch 2oz #6s, TruGlo Red Dot. Mind you that this gun is Deep Cleaned and Polished. Sorry for the low quality, my camera broke so I had to use my cell phone. These are two different shots. So its not just a coincedence. But only one shot each target.

I wouldn't complain I would be jumping for more ! Nice
Im deffinatly not complaining! Im just veryyyy shocked.
Can you come up with ANYTHING that has changed from last year's combo to now? Different lot #'s of shells? Different barrel condition? etc.... :icon_thumright:
Nothings changed. The temperature was 56. I dont have the pattern paper or picture from last year anymore, so i cant tell you anything more.
Figure out what lot that ammo is and buy a case or two, that is amazing for lead!
Something changed. I wish I could get lead to shoot like that.
Looks like the same wad also. Same ol' red Winchester wad.
That's insane!
I would buy up all of that ammo I could fine

I'd be flabbergasted if it was a H13 3.5-2.25-6. I'd be impressed if it was a H13 3.5-2.25-7. But lead? I don't know what to say. I'm struggling to get above 100/10 with a 3" Pb shell. ???
You aint lying man. Its crazy! I was like :o :o :o when i saw it.
I would be pumped with a pattern like that!
That is an amazing pattern!!! It is hard to duplicate that with Hevi. You have got a great combo there!! John
That's an awesome lead pattern. Could your range finder maybe need calibrating ? Just Kidding !
That's by far the best lead pattern I've ever seen. Congrats ! :newmascot:
WOW!!
I had some lead patterns averaging around 150 a few years back, I thought that was as good as it could get......WOW!! :theman:
I love them 3.5 win hv turkey loads they put a whippin on both ends. Congrats
That is a very dead bird!
WOW! I'm going back to the drawing board with lead. Did not think that was possible!
Is this a lasered 40 yards?
Seems unreal.
At 70 degrees you maybe in the 280s
30 yard pattern??
Pretty impressive pattern for a lead load !
I'd check the lot number on that box of shells and try to load up an ample stash of 'em !!

I'm from the Show-Me State. No offense, but that's one of them I got to see to believe.

Yeah, dissect that shell and then try to duplicate it.....lol.
I tell you lead is still good
thoughs patterns put HTL to sh!t I shoot lead 5's and am getting 105 in the ten at 40
I cap my shots at 35 ish so... mad perfect
Awesome stuff :z-winnersmiley:
Congratulations you have been able to accomplish something that no one on this site or in competition shooting have been able to do....Wait a minute????? ???
Shot the same target twice lol
I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona...
If my gun would shoot like that it would save me alot of money.

123 in a 10 is the best I've ever done..my lead shooters will not turn patterns like that at 30. Hard to believe..The good news is I have a IC .665 on the way to try in my Rem 870's.
cant explain it either....mine did the same thing but in the opposite direction...same load and choke combination last year...way fewer pellets...may need a polishing?
Well i certainly hope he comes back to argue his case sometime soon.
If mine shot like that with lead I would have saved a bunch of money...
QuoteYeah, that one definitely needs to be shot again to see what it will do.
And let someone else measure the 40 yards this time cause it seems your range finder may be off by about 20 yards. LOL!
I'm thinking that maybe it was a load of 7's or 8's acccidentally put into a 6's shell, need to shoot again to confirm and then cut open a shell and take a pellet count / size measurement
