My first turkey gun I got at 8 years old was a youth model mossberg 500.
I've toyed around with the idea of tricking it out but never have. With the same tru glos on it and some camo tape I patterned it with an XXFULL comp n choke and some #9s and it's perfect. With all the guns I've spent all this time and money on I can't put it down. It'll be the gun this year for my first hunt.
Excited to bring it back to the center of the rotation.
I've always shot the 835.
Switching this year to the superbatam youth 20 gauge.
My back-up/loaner gun is a youth 500, 20 guage. It's a no-nonsense shooter. I don't think I have personally killed a turkey with it, but it has plenty of notches from kids and people I guide for. Just a rattle-can paint job, a Carlson. 565 choke, red dot, and we were in business.
