Gentlemen,
I'm new to the forum and I love this site. I tried to search info about rain chalk to see if it's really worth it or just another item to carry in the woods. I'm sure this has been discussed before. I just can't seem to find past posts. Any opinions???
Thanks
I use it , works well but no better than any other chalk. I don't run box calls in rain but I had a couple of old strikers I put a drop of super glue on the tips and then applied a little rain Chalk to. Works well wet or dry , but the striker still absorbs water in the rain and changes the calls sound , and not for the better imo.
Thanks for the reply. I think I'll try some on old strikers like you said. Use a little glue and apply. Thanks for the info Spitten and Drummen. I appreciate your response
No problem. We are all here to help each other. Good luck

I like, I guess I should say my box calls like, the white rain chalk. Good stuff.
Thanks guys. Just ordered some rain chalk
I did this to an old Lynch Foolproof that never sounded right after getting soaked in the rain.
Clean off old chalk.
"LIGHTLY" sand across grain on the paddle.........do not remove too much wood...just touch it up.
Wipe paddle area with damp paper towel.
While still damp lightly work on some "white" rain chalk.
As it dries, you will start to see it adhering to the paddle.
Works just fine now!
All i can say if your not using rain chalk your missing out on a great chalk.. I will always have some in my bag..
