What is your best pattern with 3.5 2.25oz of number 6 Hevi13? Number in the 10 at 40yds, which choke did you use??

Not my highest in numbers pattern, but the best pattern that I am comfortable hunting with.  I do not look for huge numbers but just good even coverage.  This pattern is from an 835 24" barrel with a Star Dot .676.

Is that a 40 yard pattern??   And doesn't the percussion from that Rhino choke on that 20 inch barrel blow your hat off???

I have the only gun here that never hit 200+ with the 3.5" 2.25oz #6's, I think I hit 180 once and was always 170's.

835 - 24" nonported polished barrel

My gun only shoots 3" shells but with an IC 660 it puts 248 in a 10" @ 40yds. Win 1300 22" barrel. Hevi13 #6's.

I shoot a 24" ported/polished 835, StarDot .676 and average 210.

I've got the same gun with a PG .670 and I thought 241 in a 10 at 40 yards with Hevi 3-2-7 was pretty good.  That's almost unheard of even with 3.5" loads.

Rem. 870 21"polished brl, .660 jellyhead -242
Rem. 870 23"polished brl  .660 jellyhead - 198
Rem. 870 26"polished brl  .660 jellyhead - 182
Benelli SBEII 24" brl         .665 I.C  - 170
same gun                 .665 final strut - 188

I have found that with the H-13 shells the pattern numbers change a lot from year to year and form lot# to lot#.

My 11-87 with a 21" barrel put 202 of the hevi #5 shot in a ten at 40. I was shooting one of the old MAD Max choke tubes.

Don't gobble at me...

This is interesting data. Be interesting to compare that type jelly head in short vs long barrels. I've never had a short barrel gun out perform a long barrel. Wonder if the  design of that jelly head is for short barrels.

Here's the best I have seen.  And this was my buddy Mark and his 835 and my Pure Gold .670 choke I gave him using Hevi-13 3" 1.75oz #6 at a tape measured 40yds.  Temp was 75 degrees.
