Anybody have any pictures of any pot calls or strikers of his. Thanks.
I have never heard of a Gibson pot, i would love to see one myself.
He has made a few over the years
They are very rare I know trb136 has one maybe he will post a pic. of it. Also someone in N.C. was making some from Darrels design sure he could tell you who.
I was talkin to him o the phone yesterday about a trumpet and he mentioned he made a bunch of pots at one time.
I have slate and striker in spalted maple Darrell made for me about 20 years ago. Darrell said he made it from an old maple that had been hit by lightning.
Sorry, there is a problem with my pic attachment. I'll try to figure out the error and resubmit it.
neat design! Thanks for pic.
There was a guy on here last year that has been mentored by Mr. Gibson and was making/selling some Gibson style pots. His name on OG is Weathered-Branch.
After reading and responding to this thread, I started working with the Gibson slate today - it's been a while. I tried a JLH frogwood striker that I got recently and it sounds better than the original striker. I think this pairing will see some hunting action this spring when I want a change up call.
