Title: Quad preference

I wanted to see what the concenus was on this subject. I'm hardcore on the Kawasaki. I love my Prairie 360 it does everything I could ask it to do. I know of some of you are against using quads for turkey hunting. I am more curious what brand you prefer and what is the most widley used.

I don't use them for hunting.  I've had Yamaha's, Kawasaki's, Honda's and Polaris.  Nothing wrong with any of them, but if I was limited to only being able to have one the rest of my life it would be a Honda!

Honda for sure. Mine is a Foreman 500.  Great machine for all kinds of things.  Sure makes putting treestands up and getting deer out of the woods easier.  Never take them into the woods while actually hunting.  When deer have to be taken out, we go and get the atv.

My cousin took his Honda across the river from his house a few years back and road around awhile before coming back to the same location to cross.  Not realizing the water had come up since then, he started back across.  Wheeler wouldn't bite down and before he knew it away he went down river....him and his atv.  He thought anyone that seen him, must have thought what an idiot this guy is, as all they would be able to see was the handlebar and his head.  Anyway, first attempt to get it to shore almost worked, but the current caught it again and pulled it back in. So along for the ride he went again.  Finally further down river aftger bouncing off more rocks,  he was able to get it to shore, where he collapsed until he regained his strength.  Electric start wasn't going to work, so he used the ripcord.  Gave it 2 or 3 pulls and his Honda fired back over and home he went.  He changed the oil, etc. and never had an issue with it.

My last ATV was a 1985 Kawasaki Bayou. 24 years old and it made a believer out of me.

I have an 09 Polaris XP 550 EPS. Its the first quad Ive ever owned and I really like it. I havent any problems yet. Its got plenty of power and is alot of fun to ride. Most of the family have quads and property to ride so when its warm we all ride. Like I said, its the first one I have ever owned and really dont have any other experience with other machines.

Never owned anything but a Polaris, so I can't say anything about the others. I have had very good luck with Polaris. :icon_thumright:

That's what we have too.  A 400.  It is a little finicky to start, but it runs great and has great power.

thats the size i have.yes the power is kinda unbelievable.there is no need for anything bigger.it
will plow snow deeper than i should even attempt to.the suspension makes for a really smooth ride through
the woods.as for starting, mine starts good till the battery gets weak,on my 2nd one, just replaced it last
week.
