Went and shot today. Primarily to check hevi 13 #7's and magblends. Very happy with the results. Here they are. All shells 3.5".

I'm torn between the Hevi #7 and magblend. I think I'm good to go with either one. The hevi's seem to be a little low though. Aiming at the waddles each shot and even at 20 they look a little low. I'll probably use magblends as my primary shell. I would be fine with either of them. The longbeards still are too tight for my liking at 40. At 20, it's like shooting a slug at them.

My vote is Hevi 7 or LB 5s

Being new to turkey hunting, can I ask why you say hevi over the magblends? I will probably use the longbeard 5's if I'm planning on field hunting. I didn't shoot the longbeards at 20 this time, but last year when I did it was just a golf ball sized hole out of the paper. I want some wiggle room when that adrenaline kicks in when they are close. And by wiggle I mean shaking like I did last year. Lol

My own personal opinion is that the density of 7's is better. If you're just comparing the 40 yd shots, with hevi 7's being quite deadly at that range, I don't see any great advantage to having the 6's and 5's that are in the magblends.  The 20 yd patterns seem pretty similar. The magblend looks like it might have slightly better expansion, but with the 7's poi being left, it's hard to see what it's 5" to the left
