I sanded and finished the pots first with a clear poly. Then I did a small bead of plumber's goop all the way around the pedestal for the sound board and all the way around the rim for the calling surface. I filled a feeding syringe from the farm/tractor store with the goop, and had a helper spin the pots while I applied the bead. Set the soundboard, then repeat for the calling surface. Set soup cans on top of the calling surface to distribute the bead of goop and ensure it was in full contact with the pot.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409

I waited a day or two for the soundboards to cure then did the calling surfaces.
