I'm new here and just introduced myself but I wanted to ask the dedicated areas opinion of my yelpers. I learned how to make these from my uncle Darrell, and Gosey (ncbowjunkie) has handled all three of these calls and heard them played.
So what do you guys think? Personally I like a simpler aesthetic. Elegant shapes that compliment and show the natural beauty of the wood itself.
From left to right flame maple, Birdseye maple and black and white ebony all with linen phenolic mouthpieces. Btw that is the only black on the ebony call... I love the stark contrast of the one black stripe but that's just me...
They all look nice, great job.
Good looking trumpets
Very nice!

When it comes to turkey calls, looks are secondary to me, and I think most turkey hunters are the same way. How do they sound? Any sound files anywhere?
I have a recording of my slate call but was sucking royally trying to play the trumpet this morning. Now I need to figure out how to post that on here.
Darrell Gibson taught me to make them and really likes the sound I'm getting, especially the flame maple one.
Darrell gosey, ncbowjunkie on here, has also seen and played those calls. He said they sound really nice but you can ask him yourself
I'll work on trying to get the sound recordings up here at some point
Well, you sure have some good teachers!!!!
I sure as h*** do! I just hope I can do them proud...
