So... I was nervous. Very nervous. Those of you who know how rare it is to find a piece of snakewood of the size and condition to turn a pot know why I was so nervous. These trees grow too darn small! The snakeskin pattern in any real size is perhaps the most expensive of exotic lumber in boardfoot once you cut the waste from pith checking and less-figured sections... So anyway back to my story... I got my hands on this piece and realized it had only two minor checks. I stabilized them with CA glue to seal the gap and prevent damage. It didn't affect the sound quality so I'm thrilled!! I paired it with a dense Mexican cocobolo striker for optimal sound.
Check #1
Check #2

It's a beauty!! Too bad about the checks.
I'm still putting it in the WIN column!
Beautiful looking pot. Im sure it sounds amazing. You going to make a brass surfaced one to go with it?
Beautiful pot call!
What a beautiful pot call there! Checks add a little character I think.
Nice call, to bad about the checks.
Oye that's a fine looking caller.
Dammit man......I have to log in today and see this?!?
I guess I'm gonna have to dip into the kids college fund.....again!
Pretty work brother.
Looks great! I know I cant buy the call, so I just ordered one of those strikers. Lord Have Mercy!!
I think you'll really enjoy that striker too. Waiting to see what else I have to work with before I sell the snakewood!
Yes Sir! The striker really plays awesome!. Im waiting on one of your calls I picked up on ebay this week.
Thanks for the response on that item also.
Good Luck.

Hey Flounder,
What call did you get? Not that it really matters, ALL of his calls are simply awesome.
Be sure to post a pic when it comes in.....
I got the East Indian Rosewood. My first copper and I'm really enjoying it. I'm messing around with a few different strikers to see what sounds good. Can't wait to take Her in the woods.
