Looking to add a couple Hornstra Trumpets to my collection. Would like too know yalls favorite combos from Herb. Opinions and Pictures welcome.
Thanks
Anything the man makes, his have a sound all their own.
It's not mine, but I have run one of his shoulder bone calls that is one of the easiest drawing and best sounding calls I have used, excellent call.
I will add to the topic- not having a lot of years of trumpet calling but having trumpets from a lot of different makers, for me, Hornstras are the easiest to play and with that they have a natural rasp that most others don't...for me. Not debating who makes the best caller because I really like Buice, Cox, Permar, KP, Prudhomme, Townsend and several others. But Hornstra callers are just so easy for me to play that I would recommend anyone starting out to save the money and purchase one. Hope this helps.

Female springbok horn with buffalo bone mp and all the Hornstra fixins....
Two of his horn yelpers and then a crow call which isn't very common.

Very nice
Struggled with mine. Didn't get the wood I ordered. Ended up trading it for a 5.5 ironwood Buice. Glad I did.
