This bird came in to my left when I was calling to another bird and he caught me by suprise. He gobbled when he was at 10 yards and it was so loud it made me flinch. I was able to get the gun turned on him when he went behind a tree, and this is what happened next.

Im with you..i shot one at 12 steps coming right at me in a full strut with 3.5/ 2.25/ 7's. Dont like to shoot one in a strut but it felt like self defense. Aimed a few inches above his beard and right under his beak.. it was not pretty. Turkey did not flop once.. :turkey2:
