Did a little patterning today and thought I'd share the pictures in case it may help anyone else, or to see what other people thought of this. 870 20ga, 26" barrel, TSS 9's and Indian Creek .555. About 60 degrees outside if it matters. Fairly dirty barrel.

I'm shooting the same setup.
I shot yesterday and had right at 350 at 40yards.
Thanks for sharing!
:icon_thumright:, nice pattern.

I've heard guys saying they're getting 300+ with the same setup. Not sure why I'm consistently 272-277, but I'll take it
Looks great! I have a the same set up only mine is a youth model with 21 inch barrel. I can't get those numbers. Mine shoots in in the 230-250 range. Every gun shoots a little different. And I also believe a longer barrel is better.

My main issue is consistency
The patterns are consistent but not always 100% accurate. Not that it's a big issue, but I don't get those high numbers right where I'm aiming every time.

I ordered a Carlson's .575 today to see how it does. Will post those results next week
Which brand TSS load are you shooting, TWYATT??
Those are good looking patterns.

Federal 3" 9's
The IC .555 from my sx-3 23" does 350+ and is a lil tight for me at 40. You should be able to do better. Even the factory choke does 300.

This was my thoughts as well. Seems like I'm on the low end of what I see most people getting and wasn't sure why. Some say it's good, some are getting lower, but the majority I see are getting considerably higher.
Not sure what to make of it or do about it.
I talked to the guy at IC and he said "that's pretty good", and didn't offer any thoughts or suggestions other than "just shoot it, it's doing what it's supposed to do".
Count your 10"-20" ring see what you get.
250-300 in the 10" and 200-250 in the 10-20" ring is great for a hunting pattern.
Good luck don't waste too many shells chasing 25 or so pellets.
What oz load are you shooting? That may be why your counts ate lower. I think federal makes a 1.5 oz load and ive also heard complaints on fb of federal tss loads not containing the full amount of shot stated on box. Mosg are shooting 1 5/8oz loads in the 20 gauge as i am. My handloads with 9s and the 555 Indian creek do 350+ everytime. Trulock 575 is around 325.
I have the same setup as u and this is what I got this past Sunday at 4 ...I cleaned mine really well before I left to pattern and run a bore snake between shots...I will take 305 at 40 in a 20 ga anyday(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190312/495690e27c483a0e5adb6b53852fc993.jpg)

JMO here !!!! but stop chasing numbers and hunt that dog !!! you'r in the 272-277 range and that kinda consistency is perfect for hunting. That turkey is gonna be just as dead with 270 as he is with 300 of those pellets coming at his cranium

How has this setup worked for you? Would you recommend this choke/ammo setup?
