Title: New (old) Bow
Post by: Turkey Beard on March 11, 2012, 11:42:20 PM
My hat is off to a young man named Neal that came through for me once again at the bow shop at Bass Pro in Springfield, MO.

My son-in-law bought a Hoyt Viper Tec XT 1000 last year (used) and got a smaller bow for my daughter (new) at Bass Pro. Neal worked with them, setting up both bows. Later in the season when I was unable to shoot a doe due to a twisted peep sight, Neal put a different one in for me. The very next hunt I killed a deer and Neal got a couple of rolls of summer sausage out of it.

Well, a couple of weeks ago my son-in-law decided to buy a Matthews Z7 and I decided that it was time to upgrade from the PSE Fireflight that I bought used back in 1991 and have shot with fingers ever since, so I decided to buy that Hoyt and go to a release. The PSE is old, not too bad slow, but it's LOUD. I didn't bother to paper tune the Hoyt and just started tweaking from the point where my son-in-law had it set but decided today on a whim to just go by Bass Pro and see if Neal was there. Sure enough he was... sure enough he took about 15 minutes.... and sure enough he's got it tuned up to my own personal specs.

This afternoon I went and shot a techno-hunt and scored better on it than when I shot with my PSE that I'm VERY familiar with. I believe that Neal's got some more summer sausage in his future....

I love a good bow specialist. You have no idea what that means to give him something like that. Most customers are not that thoughtful. Good for you and him.

Great gesture on your part and well deserved!
