I have a JH 665 and I have what i think is plastic buildup. I have tried Gun Scrubber to loosen the plastic, and I have also tried Easy Off Oven Cleaner that someone recommended I try. Nothing has worked! Also, I have a film peeling off from the end of the choke? What is it and is it a bad thing?

Try a good bore cleaner like Hoppes # 9 or Shooters Choice... Any of them should do the trick with a brush and a little elbo grease.

Looking at your pic, I'm not sure it's plastic inside.  It looks like scoring to me, but if it is plastic....use bore cleaner or brake cleaner with a bronze or brass brush.  Scrub the fire out of it and if its plastic, it should come out. If it is scoring from pellets, not much you can do.  You could lightly polish the inside, but I don't recommend it.

As msgobblergetter said, use brake cleaner and scrub it good with a bronze brush.

I keep a mason jar of acetone to soak the choke.
scrub with a bore brush. clean with denatured alcohol in another jar.
Air dry, grease and your ready.

I shoot Hevi 13 so did some of the pellets go through the sides of the wad and scratch the choke?
