I know there are a number of hunters out there always looking for ways to prevent the latex reeds from sticking together once a call dries.  As I was ironing my work shirts Saturday for the upcoming week, I had a revelation...

It worked!  The thin collar stays work great for keeping the reeds seperated while drying.  They cover more area than toothpicks and don't have a sharp edge.  You can pick up a 20 pack of these at Wally World (or an equivalent) for a few bucks.  Just slide the rounded end between the reeds.  Use two stays for triple reeded calls.
Pass it on...

With mouth calls, I have found that if you take an old snuff can and put a cottonball that has been dipped or soaked in mouthwash in it then place your mouth calls inside they will stay moist and you won't have anything to worry about. Just replace the cottonball every once in a while.
