Wondering if anyone can tell me they're results of using Winchester SuperX turkey ammo? it seems to be the more underrated Winchester load, compared to Longbeards, Double-X, HV and Supreme
I've had great results with the gray box shells in a nova and a mossy 835. I still have several boxes of these in 3" #4 shot. If my memory serves me right I was getting 87-94 in 10" circle at 42yds with the #4's. Very evenly spaced, a nice even pattern from both guns. The 20" barrel 835 was with an HS undertaker .695 choke and the benelli nova was 26" barrel and kicks gt .660. Now these aren't mind blowing patterns but very strong for an inside 40yd cheap shell. I still shoot them sometimes if I'm hunting thick green woods where I know shots will be close. I'd like to try the 3" 5's in my mossberg. The 2 3/4" 5's will kill out to 35yds.

Thanks for taking time and sharing your results... That's is definitely a dead bird with them numbers, I have a HS undertaker .665 and was curious how'd they do compared to the Double X and seems almost as if its the same load but different box and price (15$ vs 9$) I may just try the 5 or 6's and go from there
3" Gray Box #5's from my 835 with a StarDot @ 42yds:

The 20" was weak with the 4's and 5's. Gray Box #6's went 120-130 but the 20" was much better.
Your welcome. Check your local wal mart for these shells. Ours has them for $7.37 a box. They quit carrying the 3" 5's and 6's though for some reason but some of the others may have them. Tom that's a nice 5 shot pattern for sure! These shells just seem to shoot good period!!
The gray box super X 6's have patterned better out of some of my set ups than the HV and XX due to the shell being a little slower I believe. Great shell and killed allot of turkeys with Super X. Best patterns Rem 870 21"bbl and Kicks .655.
I have always had great performance with the grey box shells. For the money, you can't find a better shell. Seems like Kick's chokes were made for these loads.
I have one of my 870's set up with a Kick's .665 and 2 3/4" #4 shot in Super X. Averaging 110 hits in 10" circle at 30 yards. Not bad, considering there is only 202 pellets in the load. Like the lack of recoil also.
Outshoots Winch 1.75 and 2 oz loads with 3" 6s
Rem 1187; 26"; IC .665: Winch 3/1.875/6 "Greybox"
Ave 132/10 @ 40
I've shot the 2.75 #4's, 3" 4's in my 26" 870 sp, and they didn't impress me at 40yds. Now at 30 they did very well, after that the pattern went south. The stores around here only carry 4's. I patterned a few, the rest I just burned up during squirrel season.
They're definitely a fine, forgiving shell if your gun/choke combo likes them. Being inexpensive is a plus, too.
I've never had any luck w em.
I've had good results with them in a 935 930 and a 535 tactical turkey Mossberg with the #6's. They shoot about 125 in 10" circle at 40yds. Has been a good even pattern without any major holes in it.
I have some 1 7/8 oz 3" fives that will kill out to 40. Not huge numbers but an even pattern. Can't beat the price either

I'd use it :OGturkeyhead:
