Title: White beard
Post by: FullChoke on March 07, 2011, 09:59:51 AM
Dr. Williams,

A few years ago, I was hunting with a fellow who shot a jake that had a completely white, 3-1/2" beard. The jake was typical in all other respects (uneven tail fan and nub spurs) and appeared to be perfectly healthy. Have you ever seen or heard of anything like this and what could have been the cause?

Thanks for your time.

FullChoke,

I have heard of one white beard.  It is a lack of melanin that makes breads black and resists wear.
