Title: CZ 28g choke recommendations
Post by: kevin2 on March 13, 2013, 12:25:48 AM
I've read some other threads about chokes, but wasn't sure after surfing the suggested manufactures web sites. I've got 5 chokes with the gun, full being the tightest. Not sure on the actual diameter. I patterned it and it had an ok pattern, pretty even, but at 40 yards it wasn't to dense.

15 inche target had 40 pellets, pretty spread out even. Have to be honest, not sure if I used my #4 or #8 shell to pattern it.

Anyways, I figure there has to be a tighter pattern OR I should at least ask those that know better what it should be doing at that distance.

Any leads on a specific choke to get tight patterns would certainly be great too...

First off, I don't think you will get 40 yards out of the 28 with factory loads.

Trulock and Carlson's both make chokes for the CZ's. I would get one of their X-Full or Turkey chokes and try a heavy loaded factory 7.5.

Also you may call William at SumToy and get him to build you one.

I use Briley XF or XXF (special order) but would not hesitate to use Trulocks. They work really well in my 20's.
