I emailed Mossy Oak graphics to inquire about a re-release of Greenleaf. They wrote me back to tell me that it's in final stages of approval and should be released in a month or so. My next question was " Any talks about Remington releasing guns again with the pattern"... Waiting on that answer
Basically at worse case scenario we will have a gun wrap kit back at our disposal .
Sleep easy boys , there's a light at the end of the gunbroker black market of greenleaf . :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an

I better wait on getting the BPS dipped. Been thinking about Obsession but need to pull up for a bit.
That's great news. Will be in nteresting to see what it does to the value of all these over priced original green leaf guns that are bringing $2,000 plus on gunbroker.com. I would have to think that bringing the pattern back out again greatly lowers the demand which will certainly impact value?
yeah Im sure it will. Mossy oak did a great job of hitting all our soft spots with re-releasing GF. People get wild with nostalgia.
The best part of it all is that that pattern, STILL works and looks so awesome.
:fud: :OGani:
Definitely good news to old school Mossyoak fans. I just hope the pattern they release is really the same .I notice all the newly dipped " Original Bottomland " guns look off like the gray in the background is too light almost looks white in the sun. Don't know if it is a primer issue or the actual film but I've not seen any of the new dipped guns that look like the originals. Also for some reason a lot of the new dipped guns have the pattern running up and down from bottom of the reciever to top instead of the length of gun from buttplate to choke tube looks weird to someone that has an original.
Is Mossy Oak going to approve the releas of Greenleaf for gun dipping or just the vinyl wrap?
that I dont know. My exact question was " Please tell me there is talks of releasing the Greenleaf pattern back?"
The person who wrote me back was Mike Allred which is the Account Manager of Mossy Oak Graphics 24680 Mound Rd Warren MI 48091
his email is mallred@qdvllc.com if anyone wants to email him.
I have an acquaintance that works at Mossy Oak and he said last week they are talking about releasing the film to have guns dipped. As far as the value goes on the old ones, I don't see it knocking it down a whole lot. I know myself, I will still pay a lot better money for Original USA made jackets instead of the $20 cheap stuff they produce today. I think a lot of the prices on Gunbroker are fake and don't get paid for. People just bumping up the "market". Anywho, the new film is not going to match the old stuff just like the new OG bottomland doesn't look near as good as the original but is still a cool option to have and I am sure I will have one or two dipped!
I know for a fact that the 1187 Greenleaf that sold on Gunbroker a few weeks ago for $2,000 was legit because my buddy sold it.
skfooter i got a steal on the one i bought from you a few years ago then.. lol :OGturkeyhead:
Glad to hear they are bringing it back.
Wonder why they can't remake the patterns just like the original? Surely it's no cheaper to make the film in "almost" the same colors.
It can match the old, just depends on the base color used before applying the film.
Hopefully one of the dippers will play around with it to find out what color that may be.

If they can, they arent because 90% of the "Original" Bottomland I have seen is not even close at all.
My source says film for dipping will not be available only the wrap.

They aren't because they are told or recommended what base color to use.
You can use whatever color you want as a base and can change the look of a pattern. That is all that they do with that Moonshine camo, change the base color and it changes the whole color/tone of the pattern.
I had a bow dipped in Next Vista and it was a lot more gray than the Vista you see.

Yes you did! I have the 1187 and the 870 Greenleaf models in pristine condition right now. Not sure if I would sell either of them.

So when are they going to release greenleaf?

Any further news on this?

I didn't feel like I could reply to this until word got out a little more. Film has been shipped to dipping companies
Yup greenleaf film is now available. Jerry ethridge at ethridge hyrographics in KY will have the film this week also don at camo solutions in AR. Jerry did my 1187 in obsession recently and i highly recommend. Charged me less than $200.
Does this mean anyone that carries any mossy oak for dipping can get it?

All i know is the 2 places i stated can dip your gun in greenleaf now.
Thanks. I'm checking with my
local gun dipper.

awesome anyone seen it? Im afraid it will be off color like the new old school bottomland
Looks way off more so than the "Original Bottomland" ain't even close to the real Greenleaf
I emailed a couple of the gun dippers that will have the Greenleaf and asked if anything could be done about the off colors. One hasn't replied the other is dilusional he said the patterns are the same lol. I sent him a picture of a Bottomland 870 he dipped and an original and he sees no color variation in the background ?Anyone that can look at the two guns in theses pics and not see a difference probably is either color blind or has a mental condition. 0% hope of a real Greenleaf camo dip.
How is it that mossy oak cant get this right? Who wants a WHITE green and black striped gun and now Greenleaf with white in it? Im so disappointed.

I agree 100%. Where are all the guys drooling waiting for the release claiming this would destroy the value of the Old School Greenleaf guns ? Just like the release of Old Bottomland it is a flop.
I think a lot of people never saw a real Remington Greenleaf or Bottomland so they don't realize how different they are. Why else would these guys post pics of there white splotched sideways camo patterned guns and think they are Bottomland lol.
Check out this abomination...hard to believe someone paid money for this lol.
If some of you were handed a bag of gold, you'd complain about how heavy it is

And some of you could be handed a bag of rocks and told it was gold and you'd believe it lol.

I'm sitting on a mountain of gold with my 20 Old School Remingtons
5 Greenleaf
4 Treebark
11 Original Bottomland
My buddy just sold some of his for North of $1000 highest was $1200
Proof the value hasn't and will not be destroyed by these "New" release patterns

Gunbroker should stop now... soon as someone dips an SBE in GL
Not even close,lol
It's not going to hurt the value of the REAL Greenleaf guns. It's collectors that are paying big bucks for those guns and they will continue to do so. Just like the reproduction parts for old classic muscle cars. The true enthusiast want original parts, not fakes. The new dip pattern will not be the same I can grant you on that, but it will be popular for the guys that can't afford the real thing. LOL

It's not that they can't "get it right". With today's printing technology, they could reproduce it exactly. Mossy Oak don't want to have it identical to the original. Think about it, those boys are turkey hunters too. They probably have a big collection of the old school Mossy Oak Remingtons them self's. They don't want to hurt the value of their collection either. plus I'm sure they have gotten a ton of inquiries about not making the new dip exactly the same. But in the end, there will be guys that want the fakes and guys that want the original guns. Period.

I agree with( oldschoolguy)Even if it wasn't a flop it would be like trying to make a Malibu Chevelle into a SS. Your still going to get waaay more money out of the true SS..
This is disappointing. I just heard that green leaf was available for gun dipping. Now I'm not sure if I'll get my 870 dipped or not.
Just dropped mine off today. Gave the dipper my old greenleaf hat to try and better match the base color. Find out in 2 weeks
the colors on the samples from the link to the film store looks better than the guns ive seen dipped
The ones I have seen are not even close.
Stumpy, any update on the gun? I am curious how it turned out. Thanks.

Man how insulting can you be. You know that's someone's gun here on the forum. I think it looks pretty cool regardless of how closely it resembles the original. The gun owner could probably care less.

It's not someone on this forums gun someone else might have one like it but that picture is not from this forum. Even if it was the owner hasn't complained so why would you decide to cry about a post made over a month ago? Remember what happened last time you randomly quoted one of my posts with a dumb comment, you ended up with your feelings hurt and you had to run and tell on me lol. This will be no different. Surely you've got something else you could cry about
Your post was from the 8th but it says

I could have sworn the picture was of mrclif's 870 but now the picture looks different. Maybe I saw it wrong. If it is a fellow members gun I think it's pretty crappy to call it out like but whatever. I'm not sure what you're referencing about quoting or telling on. The only person I have gotten into an argument with was Philliphunt. I tend not cry over stupid comments on internet forums. It's easy for people to run their mouth through their keyboard.

Could have fooled me lol.
The picture was from a hydro dipper online I guess it is possible the gun belongs to someone here that would be a coincidence. I cropped the original pic so it could be seen clearly and not cause fits of crying etc.
The point of the picture was to show what is being passed off as the original bottomland regardless of who owned the gun.
And digging up a post almost two months old to start crying about is a B**ch move and I'm sure Phillipshunt would agree lol. Now either go tell or shut up
