Post by: dawgfrombama on January 23, 2012, 10:52:02 AM
I know this has been done several times before, but what does everyone do for a living?  I'm a hatchery manager for a large poulty company in Kentucky.  I just moved here in december.  I've been hatching chickens for 12 years.  Right now I hatch about 1.3 million per week.

V P of Transport For Christ Ministries. We have thirty-six chapels at truck stops across the U S and Canada, there very well might be one near you. For over sixty years we have ministered to truck drivers and provided them with a place to attend services, call our prayer line for prayer 24/7, and do anything that we can to make their life and their families lives better.

Currently a Project Manager/Project Consultant at a small engineering firm.

Started life as a grounds keeper for a man who owned more land than anybody I know, got into landscaping at 16 from that. Bought a Silverado, a 18 foot trailer, 2 zero turns and all the goodies - built the biz. Went to electrical engineering school at 17. Sold the landscaping business at 19 to my competition and paid off my school debt and the rest of my education. Went to work at a paper mill as a Project Manager's Assistant Engineer. Worked there three years climbing into a full PM position by 22. 23 now and just started with the new company. Loving life and hope to own either this place or one a lot like it by 40!

Thanks Tail Feathers!

I have aspirations, but one thing I like to make sure people understand about me is I work to live not live to work. I would rather muck horse stalls for minimum wage and have my wife and hopefully kids know who husband and dad is than to make $750k a year (I don't) and them only see me in passing and miss out on all the good times. Because one day somebody else is going to get to spend my savings and life insurance money - I ain't going to take it to the pearly gates with me.

Was an Air Force Combat SP stationed in MO for 4 years and when I got out I just kinda drifted around from job to job for 2 years or so working for this temp agency and that temp agency.  Once I decided to settle down, I got into retail sales and was a general mgr for a large consumer electronics and appliance outlet for 4 years and then became a retail buyer for a sporting goods outlet for about the next 8 years. Sounds like the perfect job right?  Not even close!   After retail completely burnt me out, I went back to school at the age of 35.  I am now a psychiatric nurse at a all boys residential treatment facility going on four years now.  Funny thing is, out of the 110 or so employees, I am only 1 of 4 or 5 hunters in the whole institution.  Gotta love liberals right?
