General Forum / Re: I'll see you in MarchLast post by Turkeybutt - Today at 03:07:07 AMPink rod, pink glove, some cool shades and a big smile! The little lady has it all going on, good for her!
A photo does speak a 1,000 words! She proud, as is the person taking the photo. Sometimes it's the simplest things in life that mean so much. #4
General Forum / Re: I helped my 83 y-o hunting...Last post by Turkeybutt - Today at 02:49:56 AMThanks you for sharing the story and the photo of your buddy and his bird. Kudos to you for taking the time to take your 83 year old buddy out hunting.
Sorry you missed your bird. We all miss, it's part of hunting, It isn't always about winning or losing, harvesting whatever it is we are hunting or whatever we are involved in, but more about the things we learn along the way and the memories we create. I'm sure that's a hunt neither of you will ever forget! #6

General Forum / Re: Jakes on accident...Last post by ChesterCopperpot - May 19, 2024, 10:52:38 PMQuote from: Dhamilton1 on May 19, 2024, 05:46:05 PMBeen hunting for 4 years now and killed my first bird ever this year in WV and he was a Jake. He had a funny gobble from a distance but when he got closer, he sounded like any other I've heard gobbling in the woods (maybe untrained ears still). He let out one last heart pounding gobble at about 50 yards and when his head popped out above the log he came in from behind, I didn't think twice. I was actually surprised when I grabbed him off the ground but still happy nonetheless. Cut off his short 3" beard, stubby almost none existent "spurs" and have his tail fan pinned to card board and boraxed in the garage.Congrats! Sounds like a great hunt, and I'd about bet one you'll never forget. Be proud of him. Any bird that plays the game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk #10
General Forum / Re: As seasons end what is nex...Last post by WiLL B - May 19, 2024, 10:48:02 PMFound enough suicidal gobblers to get me through this year. Fixing to start planting summer food for the deer and turkeys and vacations with Wifey. And some fishing. Just passing the time till next year.
