I got my first crystal call, a halloran crystal mistress the other day and I'm super impressed by it, but it already needs some conditioning. Which product do y'all crystal guys use? The Woodhaven one seems awful expensive for a tiny piece of Arkansas stone on a stick...

Drywall sanding screen is a good inexpensive material for touching up your crystal call.  I do like to condition periodically with a stone.  Enticer turkey calls sells a nice conditioning stone for $4....I'd order one of his surface savers too while you're at it, great protection for your new call.  Congratulations on the new purchase.

Well you should get that stone cause occasionally it's useful. Drywall screen 80 grit or sandpaper is what I use to re rough it up.
Being your not sure what to use I'll tell you something to try, when you use the screen or paper, sand only in one direction. If you go back/forth you'll remove your ridges. Sand 9-3 n play 12-6
