Would like some opinions on the "best" slate pots and makers out there.

Lon Trice, Anything thing he makes. Lonnie Sneed hot hen, Darrin Dawkins walnut slate. Any one of them three. Especially Lon Trice.

I'm not a huge fan of slate calls but my Blackstone slate in walnut is one of the best slates i've played.

Halloran laminate is great and Jimmy Schaffer red hen is another good one

My favorite slate that I ran last spring was a Kimmy Hanks.

I appreciate it guys..i normally run crystal and aluminum. Big halloran fan. I will get a couple of the calls you guys lusted. The addicition continues!

Roger Parks - curly walnut slate. Super good sounding!!  ;D At the least call Roger and have him play one over the phone. You won't be sorry!!

I agree on the names listed so far. I would like to add Bill Lyman, Daybreak, and Tim Oldham. All three make awesome slate calls.

Mark Cornelius. My two favorites of his are a cherry pot with glass soundboard and walnut with aluminum soundboard.

Two of my other all-time favorites are the Cody Spec 1 and Parks Gobbler slate.
