How do you like your M3020 guns?? I'm contemplating adding a 26" model. I see it is a one of the lighter weight 20s out there. Not really interested in a gas 20 as weight increases to near 7#, so I wouldn't be gaining much over my 12. I am also considering a Affinity, but the M3500 I had was a good gun so I'm not sure if the price difference reflects much gained between the M3020 and Affinity. Anyone compare the M3020 and Affinity and have a reason they went with one over the other??
Are most of you using TSS with your 20s? Anyone using lead in the 20? I'm just curious if anyone has any info on 20ga 5 or 6 lead load results from the m3020 with the stock xf.
OK....which one of you wise guys bought "my" bottomland M3020 that was in my gunbroker watchlist. :)
I don't think you can go wrong with that gun, I paired mine with a Carlson choke and it throws a great pattern. I've taken 4 birds with mine from 18 to 48 yards and it doesn't knock your brains out shooting it
had my 3020 for 3 years now, really like it
You won't be disappointed with the 3020,it's a great gun!
My buddy has a 3020 and like it a lot. If I were switching to a 20 it`d definitely be a top contender. And yes, shoot TSS. The ballistics differences in the sub gauges warrant it and the birds deserve it. For 12 gauge, IMO, what you gain does not outweigh the cost, TSS vs. lead or a hybrid like Hevi-13.
As stated above, you wont be disappointed. I have a couple and they perform very well for the money. On the turkey setup I run a burris ff3, IC .555 and apex #9's.
I haven't shot mine yet, but will be starting out with the factory choke with some Hevi-13 7 shot. I put some Williams Fire Sights on it until I can get it drilled and tapped (if I decide to put a red dot on it). I bought it as a backup gun, but it might find its way into the lead off role.

I absolutely love mine. I bought the turkey model and mounted a red dot on it. 5 pound gun and shoots great with the factory choke. It's a great shooter and an absolute joy to carry around the woods

Has anyone had there 3020 drilled and tapped? I've talked to several different gunsmiths and nobody wants to do so cuz they all say the receiver is to thin

I drilled and tapped the one I got for my wife last spring and didn't have any trouble...with the aluminum receiver just take your time tapping it

The back of the receiver is thick.
had mine done 2 years ago gunsmith drilled at back like sumtoy said it will do the job if you do yours
Okay good deal I'm glad to hear I can cuz I was a little bummed
I had mine drilled & tapped with no issues at all. I also bought a 24" bbl. from midwestgunworks.com, now its in Mossy Oak Obsession camo, not the bottomland like my gun, but $80 and a trip to Ethridge hydrographics and it will all match. If anyone likes the idea of a 24" barrel over the stock 26" or 28" its MPN # 33838 @ Midwest Gun Works.
I just got the Franchi Affinity Elite 3 turkey 20 ga. last week, it's a sweet gun for sure... have not shot it yet.. come's with 2 Rhino Elite turkey chokes, besides one extra full choke... already drilled and rail installed ..
I bought a bottomlands 3020 with the 26" barrel a couple years ago first thing I did was have it drilled&tapped. No issues at all! My biggest complaint was the barrel length I went ahead and had Stuart at CompNChoke cut it down to 22" and rethread I absolutely love the gun now. Lightweight and shoots good with .555 IC #9 handloads
