Sure have. Grabbed a handful of strikers and got some play time in at work. Hard to put down! So far liking it with a hickory (mid tone), dymondwood (boss hen rasp) and a JLH acacia (young hen, keekees). The black knight striker has a nasal tone im not a fan of. Still got a few more woods to try. Runs easy. Soft talks and purrs super sweet but can open up and unleash the turkey in it effortlessly. Its my first Cody so now i'm curious how the world class slate compares. Looking forward to hunting it next spring.

I've never played a Cody call, from the cheapest to the most expensive, that did sound pure turkey.

To my ear I like my legend more than my World Class but they are prob the two best slates I've ever run.  Since the day I got my Legend it hasn't left my vest and it has been the first call out unless it is raining.

2 longbeards fell to it this year with only a few tree clucks and soft yelps.  Called for a min maybe both days!

After a 16 month wait my Legend came May 30. Our season ended the 31st. I wonder why Bill didn't sign mine.

The World Class isn't as raspy or has a clearer sound than the Legend, to my ear at least.

Outdoors, yes green slate on all of them.

Did you get it from Cody? I have been waiting almost 2 years now so I was just wondering?

Was going to call in my order but also knew about the wait times. So when I saw it on ebay I snatched it. Paid about $20 more than ordering direct but both the pot and striker were signed and it came with the tupperware case. The seller lives a few minutes away from the Cody shop so not sure if he's related or going there in person and getting calls.

Anyone know what wood the Black Knight striker is?

I saw someone post that it was African Blackwood, but I thought it looked like Mac Ebony to me.

Thank you Jester!  I have an old (20+ years) Cody glass and it's tough to put down....may be time to order a new slate from them...thank you for sharing your opinion!  DD :icon_thumright:

Its definitely going in my vest with a tulipwood (excellent tone and roll over, perfect amount of rasp to my ear) and a red cedar for all the soft talk. I was curious about trying their glass but was really in need of a good slate.

Thinking its funny  I received a. WOODSMAN DROP DEAD
Slate  and  I played it   right from the package  it's ok
Then I conditioned it with the pad that came with it  I now it sounds almost like a double Yelp  that's with the striker that came with it.
Ordered it from.    Amazon
I'm liking it   sounds really good  not making a high screachie  pitch sound

I have the spec 1, world class, drop dead, woodsman, cody II, and a wildtalker. All are grey slates except for the drop dead.

The World Class and Drop Dead are my favorite Cody pots so far. I have yet to try the Legand.

They are all fine calls.
