Title: Strange weather a brewing for the NY open.....
Post by: Sevenyearsandcounting on April 27, 2017, 07:45:45 PM
About three weeks ago birds were lit up gobbling...Three days until season and four hunters and myself are only seeing birds strutting in large groups. The weather is warm! Leaves are on the trees which is super super early.

Now my question. Could super warm weather have the birds in full on mating mode right now?  Could the first major gobbling phase be done with? Could we be in the mid season gobbling lull?

Now don't get me wrong I'll be hunting, just what changes to the strategy should be made to account for this strange weather? And could the birds be on a different schedule this season?

Try not to overthink things.

The only things I have noticed in PA are the foilage is early. Calling for Thunderstorms. But, the birds seem normal. Let it pour, I have my blind set up near a few roosted birds and don't mind the rain.......LOL.

Overthinking is my game and it gets me nowhere lol. The less I think the better. Today the birds were acting normal and boy are there some monsters. Getting excited. Can't wait for Monday.
