Just curious what everyone's favorite mass-produced call has been over the years?
One of my favorites is the very basic Lynch Jet Slate.
Black widow for me...
Is Halloran considered mass produced? If so than Halloran pot calls, if not than Woodhaven Cherry Crystal.

I have this call and it is very good also.

Primos Battleship in a box, Cody Spec 1 in pot call. Cody used to be somewhat mass produced, but now due to vey limited production they seem to be heading toward custom, not mass produced.
I'm gonna go a little different here and choose a locator call. Woodhaven makes the best crow call I've ever run. I've got some great custom crow calls but there's just something about the tone of the Woodhaven. From a gobbler perspective I don't think it matters. But from a calling in crows perspective (something real useful in helping elicit shock gobbles free of charge), that Woodhaven is flat untouchable. I keep trying to find a custom that will out run it and I haven't found one yet.

Lohman Thunderdome slate with its carbon striker ...
Anything DH if they are considered mass produced. If not, either a Woodhaven cherry classic crystal, or a K&H moonshiner.
Primo's heritage series slate and aluminum trough calls.
Perfection Screamin' Demon 2
I have a Primos Ol Glory that I carry everytime out. They don't make them anymore it is one of the Frictionite calls. Killed my first two turkeys with it. Love that call.

The primos power crystal and the purpleheart striker it came with (no, I never have lost it even after 20 years!).
It's been with me literally since day-1. It has to constantly be conditioned and sounds like the world is falling apart if you knock anything against that plastic pot but it's awful nostalgic for me.
Penn Woods Tom Turpin yelper and Primos Lil Heartbreaker

Primo's heritage series slate and aluminum trough calls.
You know I'm a big fan of those, the Super aluminum is always in my front bib pocket. I just acquired a prototype from when they first setup to make them.
My favorite to answer OP's question is pretty much any Battey designed pot Primos has produced and for boxes the Lil Heartbreaker or Battleship are tough to beat.

Lynch 152 raspy hen
Primos Heartbreaker
Long box: Primos Battleship
Short box: Primos Heartbreaker
Pot call: Anything Cody
KH135 plastic tube call. All that was readily available for years.
I do love my Olt crow call as a locator. It is loud as hell when I need it to be.
Primos power crystal. The Purple heart striker that came with it sure is nice but I like to run a Dymond wood. Sure aint purdy but that joker has called in a few birds
Lohman 870 box call - The 1st turkey call I bought in the 1980s and is still consistently calling in gobblers.
Primos Will Primos model (WP-1) mouth call - I've tried dozens of calls from both large and small makers and this one is by far easier for me to use than any I have tried.
Primos power crystal...
Still have purpleheart striker...
Retired & in the gun safe....
Man, if that thing could talk...

That is a good one!
Rohm brothers walnut/poplar/cherry shortbox for me.
H.S. STRUT Hunter's Specialties Triple Glass Friction Call-just the first one I bought when I started really turkey hunting. I have called a whole lot of birds in with it.
HS Raspy Old Hen mouth call. Always in the vest, one I always try - have finished a lot of birds with it.
Mystic No Chalk box call. First turkey call I ever bought. Probably in the late 70s early 80s. Long before I ever really got serious about turkey hunting. Called in 2 Osceolas. Don't use it much anymore, but always have it in the vest.
Another vote here for the on sided Primos Box Cutter. A close second would be the HS Strut Lil Deuce Double glass pot call.
Knight & Hale Moonshiner.
Ol' Yeller sla-tek was my first love; Primos Power Crystal and the Primos Lil' Heartbreaker served great tours of duty as well
K&H Moonshiner, Ole Yeller and Primos Heartbreaker
Quaker Boy Grand Old Master box call. The older ones from the 80's and early 90's. I don't know about the newer ones, haven't heard any of them.

Lohman Thunderdome slate with its carbon striker ...
This certainly is a good one. In addition to the slate I also have one each in ceramic and crystal. They sound great.
I don't really buy production calls but I was recently playing around with the bass pro Redhead box call lineup at the store. The calls by and large were not good, but one did impress, the Ozark Bottoms butternut mini boat paddle. Really good sounds from this $39 production box...I didn't buy it though.
I had a Primos Power Crystal that had a couple gobblers under it's belt and then took a drop out of my truck and was gone forever. I was devastated. That led me into custom calls. I can still picture those hunts in my head like they were yesterday.
Being a push-pin fanatic, I will add The Knight&Hale Witchy Woman push pin. This was a mass produced call when Knight&Hale was still making calls. Very well crafted, and the best mass production push-pin I've heard.

Beautiful Instrument ...
Ive killed a few with the witchy woman, great call
Mad super illuminator , the first one i got was a killer after being roughed up with 36 grit. The second was not though.
H.S triple glass , heck of a call.
Another I killed a bunnh of birds is Quaker Boy grand old master field grade. Mike
Lynch Jet Slate
If Cody counts as a production call world class slate
Those 2 calls have accounted for the most birds by far for me

I am with owl hoot on this one I have more birds than you can count on a MAD super aluminator.I have more confidence in that call than any other call in my vest including all the custom built calls I have that go every time I go to the the woods, but the first call that I put in my hands every time is that MAD call that I have all the confidence in the world!
Primos Ol Glory, man that thing is worn out but it has killed a bunch of birds
My favorite is an old wood faulks crow call an old timer gave me 20 yrs ago, man that thing throws a good sound and gets a gobble
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I picked up an old K&H glass hammer pot for 6 bucks in a clearance bin once. I never leave home W/O it. I've crushed many of Tom's noggins with it. I love customs and do run a few. However, this It is by far my biggest go to pot call.
Favorite box would be an older Lynch fool proof that my dad gave me. A close second would be the mad mini master. The mini master can make noise that I dont think would call in many turkeys but can drag a gobble out of most turkeys in range, very unique sound
Favorite push pin would be a original knight and hale push pull that my dad also gave me (both of these are now on the shelf because I do not want to lose/break them)
favorite pot would be crystal mistress, a close second would be my Osceola edition primos pot (had many people tell me I should have never used it but its called in a fair amount of birds and what's done is done)
The old primos super slate trough calls would be high on my favorites list as well
Believe it or not, my favorite truly production call is an old acrylic pot call from Wood Wise. It is a double sider with bronzed glass top and aluminum under. Came with an aluminum striker.
I started out with a Perfection 3 reed diaphragm call (no cuts) back in the late 1970's, I killed a pile with that one, just straight up clear hen talk.
Mad Super Crystal, it was my first call and I still have one.
Primos jackpot and alumislate
Primos power crystal! I have killed a pile of birds using this call!!
HS Lil Deuce slate/glass and dbl glass. I have both and they are my "crutch" when things get tough.
Primos Battey World Class slate and a Lynch Gobble Box
2x Primos Heart Breaker original
Lohman Thunderdome slate.
Wayne Carlton's "Copper Pot". It is raspy and nasty.
Some very nice calls mentioned, I thought I had replied to this but i guess not, Primos Battey..

Woodhaven cherry classic crystal and the vision crystal.

you ever tried a darrel gibson crow call?
thats a tough one. I dont have any mass produced calls in my vest, but at this point in history being everybody and their mother is a custom call maker now , it makes this a tough decision. I kill turkeys with a variety of calls, as far as mass production in my lifetime more have probably died to a lynch fool proof, but its been years since ive used mine and i swap box calls in and out of my vest regularly, i just never quite make it down to the lynch. i have a couple of heart breakers, but they are collectors, i have several vintage signed dick kirby calls but once again they are collectos. i have the battleship....collector, i have actually have used it once and killed a turkey with it. I have a mad boom box, sanded it down, did a little work to it, and refinished it. its a killing machine. bought it on clearance for 5 bucks...actually bought 5 of them and kept the best sounding one after working on it.
Lohman Thunderdome
Anything by Preston Pittman especially his "scratch bag"
"Screamin Demon"
Have a good one

Lynch fool proof 101 box call made in Liberty Miss.
Heartbreaker....They answer this call when nothing else works.
Woodhaven V3 Classic
Lohman thunderdome in crystal, slate a close second.

Same here. I have one I bought late 80's. Still in my vest.
Any of the lynch boxcalls for me personally.
I have a Quaker Boy Supreme Grade Grand Old Master that sounds great to me.
