Just picked up a new to me
870 super mag. 3 1/2 " chamber. Shot it outback
Just to make sure it went bang and kicked the shell
Out .got 3 chokes ic. Mod. Full.
Tomorrow I will look for a Turkey choke.
congrats on the new gun, get ya a sum toy, Indian Creek, Jelly head, or Hevi shot choke and it'll pattern good for ya.
Congrats. How old is the gun?
Love mine.I shoot a sumtoy and longbeards and its deadly!!!
I don't really know how old it is . It looks like its had pretty good care
It's all black stock synthetic and flat finished barrel.
I will get a pic. Of it tomorrow. outside.
Just wondered what the size of the rem.choke for turkey is.
.670 or smaller ?
Love mine and if you are looking for a cheaper choke that is an absolute killer, I would look and see if you could find a Ventilator choke. Got it in mine and it has been a flat out killer. Congrats on a great gun.
Patterns were on a cold day so they will be much better in warmer weather.

The guys at Indian Creek have been very good me to and their chokes do well with any shell I have shot.
If your looking to keep costs down a Primos JellyHead in .660 or .665 is tough to beat for the price.
More important than the choke is the shell. A good shell can make any choke look good.
When it comes to factory loads the Hevi Shot 3.5" #7s are the ticket. If you want to save a few bucks get the Winchester Long Beard 3.5" #6s.
Sound like my old gun. I've had good luck with Ballistic Specialties, Sumtoy, and Jebs chokes. Longbeard #6 have been a great economical shell for me. I shoot 200 plus with it.
Thanks for all the info. Guys.
Going to look for a .670 and a .660 today the temp.
Has really dropped again but hope to get out later today
And shoot a couple targets.
I have hit 3 diff. Gun shops and wally world and haven't
Found any win. LB.'s. Yet to try. I guess I am rushing
Turkey season , the one GS. Told me he hasn't ordered
His turkey season stuff yet. May's not that far away .
6 wks.
I always get my longbeards from the gander mountain, don't know if there is one in your area though.
Got 2 boxes at bass pro last night and they had a bunch
Just came in from shooting my new Turkey Wacker.
It's 28 degs. With wind gust of 25-35 mph. Not nice.
But I took a pic of my 870.
Trying to post another pic. It says file to big?
You can see what the wind did blowing my shot off the page and this was only 35 yds.
Found some Win.LB's. In 3" & 3.5. Late yesterday
Hopefully this wind will die down so I can give this
A good test.
I have a Rem 870 Exp. SM 28" barrel. I would recommend the Hevi Shot .662 choke paired with Win LB 3" #6. I am getting 200+ at 40 yards in a 10" circle.
I believe I bought mine new about 3 or 4 years ago...?
Just put a set of Hi- Viz sites front and rear sites on so now I
Have to site her in and pattern it. I don't know if that's a good
Idea all at once or not ?
I have the Hi Viz Tri Viz sights on. They were dead on without having to adjust. No reason why it wouldn't be a good idea.
:welcomeOG:shot my 870 again , I think I am going to
Use the win.#6 LB. Put 21 pellets in the kill zone
@ 35 yds. I plan on calling them in a lot closer than that.
Found some turkey sign on the way out to post my target.
