For anyone still trying to decide between the 3 moa or 8 moa, I strongly suggest trying to find a place where you can physically see both (I realize that might be hard to do).......I did this and was surprised at the actual appearance of each dot size when mounted on my shotgun.

Which did you like better, and why?

3 For me the 8 covers up the whole head at 40 . JMO

I downloaded some actual size targets and got a few measurements.  Then I took some pictures I found and made some true sized dots for 40 yards based on head sizes.  I'm not saying this is perfect but it should give you a pretty good idea of the difference is sizes.  Is this what we are looking for?

That's outstanding .  Nice to get that visual you should put that on your website.

Great Pics! I have a 4 MOA dot on my Aimpoint and the 8 MOA on a FFIII. I have no issues with either. At first I was afraid the 8 MOA would be too large but for shotgun applications it works great.

Well I tried the Burris Fastfire III 8 MOA today on a Mossberg 535.  I really liked the sight & the way it set down lower on the receiver so you don't need a cheek riser.  It's a quality sight for sure.  But to me the 8 MOA is just too big for my preference.  If I had gotten the 3 MOA I might have kept it & used it but would not have been completely satisfied with it.  I would buy another if they ever make one with a 5 MOA.  That's what I believe to me would be about perfect.  Everyone likes different things.  Anyway I ordered me a Beartooth cheek riser for the 535 & put the Tru-Glo Tru Brite back on it.

I agree with this idea.

While my FF III 8 dot looks nothing like the photos above, it is plenty big enough.

The 4 dot on my FF II is good enough, but not that great, and no way would I go smaller.

Of course, the FF III 3 dot might be better than the 4 dot on the FF II.

Is everyone using all the settings on the FF III?  I have found one down from the brightest to work fine.

But don't cover the head on birds, so the 3 or 8 would have been fine...

I went with the 8 moa. At 40 yards the dot is about the size of a post-it. At 20 yards the dot looks to be 1.5" in diameter. I can't imagine wanting a dot smaller than that but to each his own.

Burris man is those 3 MOA and 8 MOA Dots?
