Title: Finally got it figured out
Post by: ahfox16 on April 27, 2013, 05:02:36 PM
Have a Benelli Nova with 26" barrel.  Tried 4 different chokes and couldn't get over 115 hits with the Federal heavyweight 20 gauge in size 7.  Figured there had to be a combination that would work and I found it.

FYI, the first chokes I tried were the Carlson extended non-ported in .575
second was the Indian Creek .555 ported
Third Sumtoy 562.

They were all pretty much the same, but I couldn't dial in the sweet spot.  Called William at Sumtoy and we talked a bit and he said he would ship me their .570 because he said some folks were having really good luck with that choke in that gun with that shell.

Finally got it out today (I've been shooting my 12 gauge) and got a chance to try it out.

Pretty happy.  Measured 40 yards and I got 172 hits in the 10" circle.  Bird would have been splattered for sure.  I think this is the combo that will be the real deal for me.  Gun is headed to Nebraska this Friday and will be hunting Sunday Afternoon.  Can't wait.

PS.  Much appreciate william and Suntoy.  They made it right for sure.
