Turkey Guns / Re: Best Turkey Gun Builder?Last post by Greg Massey - Today at 11:51:57 AMWhat turkey guns I have put together have all done well in killing gobblers if I do my part. Never seen the need to send a gun off etc... Nothing wrong if that's what you want to do. IMO...

General Forum / Re: I’m a spurs guyLast post by Swamp_870 - Today at 11:49:05 AMI'm in it for the overall experience of the hunt, but when you pick one up and see some hooks on him it makes it that much better. Kinda like killing a banded greenhead.

General Forum / Re: Taking the safety off...sp...Last post by Swamp_870 - Today at 11:46:02 AMMost of the time when you see that shot built into the video it's being used as a cutaway to either speed up the hunt or allow the editor to cut out some janky footage. Camera guys that film hunts for tv are constantly having to level their tripods, focus lenses, change batteries, and make sure they are hidden when filming hunts.
The other reason you'll see it is if the gun manufacturer or optic manufacturer is a sponsor of the show. If you see a big logo on shots like this they are probably showing their sponsors some love. IMO those kinds of shots take away from the hunt and there are better ways to promote a sponsor. I can't tell you why anyone would want to wait to click their safety off once the turkey's in range though. Seems like you are asking to get busted by doing that. #4

2024 Guns N' Hoses / We've got the lead!!Last post by RutnNStrutn - Today at 11:44:04 AMCongrats brothers!! We're in first place!!!
But, our lead is less than a point!! So we can't afford to rest on our laurels. We need at least a couple of good upgrades to pad our lead. So keep hitting the woods and stay after those gobblers!! #6

General Forum / Re: PA openerLast post by compton30 - Today at 11:22:23 AMWe had a great day also. Started slow but had a lot of gobbling once they got themselves a cup of coffee. Nephew was able to get his first bird and we had an absolute blast even though we couldn't have been one more drop wetter than we were. A day I won't soon forget.
Got me jacked up all over again just typing this out! |
