Title: Newbie looking for help
Post by: luckydawg on June 24, 2011, 09:49:07 AM
Just started turning three days ago.... Just strikers so far.
I just found out I would be making trip to Atlanta from
northeast Mississippi. Since "exotic" wood is kind of hard
to come by here I was wondering in There are any places
in between that I could check for some good wood. Thanks!

I don't know what part of atlanta you are going to, there is a nice supplyer in griffen ga. he will have most anything you need and you can order through his web site also.

If you have access to a Woodcraft store there is a great place to start. I have several suppliers and use ebay a lot for my exotics.

There are several places in Atlanta to get exotic woods. Woodcraft in Alpharetta, Rockler in Roswell, Highland Hardware ( a real woodworkers paradise and not too far from Turner Field) in Atlanta.

Highland  did not really have a big selection but I found a place pretty close that had everything you could imagine. Carltons exotic wood and veneers.
