Title: What size gun is everyone toting this season?
Post by: Gobble! on March 03, 2019, 03:26:52 PM
Probably be carrying the 12 gauge most of the time but on the hunt for a 410 right now. If I stumble on one I can't pass up I may carry something other than a 12 gauge into the turkey woods, for myself, for the first time.

The same 12 gauge I always have. I do have a 20 gauge gauge set up if I ever feel like taking it but so far I have zero interest.

Bought a 20ga barrel for my encore and its ready to go. Have been toting the encore 12 for years. Both are light but the recoil is way less with the 20.

410 BPS, Benelli UL 28, Browning Auto 5 Magnum Twenty, the same in Sweet 16, and a Beretta A400 Xtreme - assuming I can fill the tags I plan to!!  I roll my own TSS and killed my first bird with it last fall with the Beretta. My 410 is easily a 40 yard gun.

I bought an 870 20 gauge last year, or my 12 gauge 870 Super Mag but on a very nice day, I may carry my Grandfather's 1875 Remington Lifter 10 gauge double barrel.
