Y'all separating reeds, tootin' your trumpet and scratching up your pot call surfaces yet?

My mind has been drifting to spring for a while now, but since duck season has passed it has gotten my full attention. My oldest son is 7 this year, my how time flies, so I am building him a gun in hopes of helping him kill a turkey or two, or limit. I guess you can say I have messed with a trumpet or two already.
I've been making diapghram since Late December.
Finally have a few that might kill a bird or two.
Haven't polished any of my trumpets up just yet.

Made me think of my own daughter Don
This was 5 years ago her running cane call. She did pretty good

Took this pic on December 20th, there's at least 4-5 mature birds mixed in with them. It's about a quarter mile up the road from a spot I have permission. It's getting close!!
