Title: Winchester SXP turkey choke question
Post by: Oreegun on April 28, 2021, 01:03:28 PM
Hello-

I'm inquiring for a buddy about chokes for a Winchester SXP Turkey 20ga.  It has a 24'' barrel I believe.  Likely he'll be using TSS 9's or duplex loads with 7.5's and 9s.  Any insights are appreciated.

I use a .585 Trulock in mine with 8-9 TSS handloads. Shoots really well and for me it's about perfect for a hunting gun. Not too tight, not too open

Following: I was about to post the same question. Buddy has a Winchester 20ga and is diving into the TSS waters. He has Apex Ninja 8.5s and Federal #9s. He is trying to decide between Trulock .565, Sumtoy .562, Sumtoy .570, LongBeard .568 or Carlsons .575. Other suggestions welcome. I am not familiar at all with the Winchester. Thought I read somewhere that even the 20 gauge winchesters have backbored barrels.

.555 Indian Creek is light out for me.

Try a .570 tightwad.
