Our opener started out great. My brother has been keeping tabs on about 5 gobblers using this area of NF for past couple weeks. He and I marched in about mile to mile and half Monday morning. We ended up calling 3 longbeards in after flydown. Since he was leaving to head to Oklahoma this week, I told him to go ahead shoot first. I'm left handed and they came in too far to my left for us to double. He shot a good 3 year old gobbler. Tuesday, I ended up going in to an area of NF where I had called up a strutter youth season for my daughter but he came by too far for her. At 745am yesterday, I called up one following a jake. Full strut for close to 200 yards ended up killin him at 22 steps. Another mature gobbler. Great first 2 days of season.
