So I'm just counting the days til I can start chasing birds again. So let's start something i haven't seen on here yet... full disclosure this has probably been covered and I missed it. What boots do you use turkey hunting? More than one pair for different reasons? Why do I need to use them? Do you use different boots deer hunting? Idc lets just see what people got?
Russell Moccasins snake boots. Put a lot of miles on em over the years, they were stiff at first but after breaking in they've been awesome...

rocky prolight snakes and leather low boots or merrells with gaiters. despise rubber or non laceup boots
Rocky non-insulated for early turkey Rocky snake boots for late turkey, insulated Rocky when i did deer hunt
Kenetrek Mountain Extreme - Uninsulated. If I was hunting lowlands I'd wear an uninsulated rubber boot.
I.S. vaprtek

Irish Setters while it cold. When the snakes are crawling, I use Rocky Snake Boots.
Lacrosse Grange majority of the time
If it's wet---Lacrosse Alpha Burlys
If it's dry---Danner Snakes
If I wear boots it's usually Danners. But a lot of the time I wear crocs or tennis shoes.
I've tried many snake boots. Chippewas, Danners, Rocky's, LaCrosse, Redhead. I found the Readhead side zip camo snake boots to be my favorites, and have worn them for years. They're lightweight and comfortable, and they hold their waterproofing as well or better than the others, but they're getting hard to find. I think they may have stopped making them. I needed a new pair for this spring and couldn't find them, so I had to get a similar pair of Rocky's. I mainly hunt in Dixie, so snake boots are a must.
For cold weather hunts, I have a pair of 2000 gram Thinsulate regular hunting boots. If it's cold enough for those boots, the snakes won't be active.
Lacrosse Grange. I like to keep my feet and lower pants dry.
Danner pronghorns.
I stay traditional and go barefooted.
Early season if still cold and not too muddy I wear my Keen boots that I wear daily. Once it warms up or starts getting sloppy my Much snake boots go on the rest of the season. They are a bit stiff but I'll take protection and dry feet over snake bites and wet feet any day!
Irish Setter vaprtreks and Wingshooters
Crocks.
got a pair of russell hart's turkey hunters. i love them. waterproof zips. very comfortable. snake proof.

Seriously?? :o
I ask that with all sincerity. I had a friend of mine who used to hunt barefoot in Florida. He also got struck by water moccasins on two occasions. I'd never think of hunting barefoot. My tootsies are too tender, and I'd hate to get snake bit.

No. Im just having a little fun in reference to traditional hunting from another post.
I use the lacrosse grange 18" boots. Mossy oak break up country. Not bad, glad they're not real bulky... when these go I'm probably gonna get the alpha burlys
Danner Pronghorn snake boots non zip.
Jim
funny Barefoot i had a buddy that use to hunt in his socks, just for squirrel hunting and it was cold...
Crocs! With socks!!
Original Altama Vietnam jungle boots in the swamp, Russell Ultra Lites 15" leather snake boots in the pines.
Here in Minnesota the spring hunt weather can be anywhere from winter snowstorms to an early spring warm up with summer-like temperatures.
Insulated Waterproof - LaCrosse
Uninsulated Waterproof - Meindl - most expensive and most uncomfortable boots I've ever owned. I'm too cheap to buy new ones until they wear out
Uninsulated No Longer Waterproof - Rocky - light boots that have lasted a long time although no longer water proof
Uninsulated wet boots - 18" Neoprene / Nylon - LaCrosse Alphaburly
Crocs in 4 wheel dry mode.
most of the time it's a pair of uninsulated rockys 10 inch high . Ya getting wet no matter what if your crossing swamps in the cypress , rubber boots are useless.

Russell Snakeboots are my primary turkey hunting boots. I also keep a pair of Danner Pronghorns snakeboots to wear if my Russell's get wet.
Danner Grouse for upland hunting
Lowa's for big game hunting

Wear several pairs depending on the situation:
-Lacrosse Grange when water is inevitable
-Chippewa Snake Boots when in snake country
-Crispi Lace up when covering miles out west

Lacrosse alpha burly uninsulated most of the time. I had a pair of rocky silent stalker sneakers that I wore for years but they had to finally be retired. My next go to is a pair of Salomon x ultra 2 hikers.
Lacrosse 4xAlpha Snake boots and Lacrosse 18" Venom
Zamberlan 996 and 1013's.

I have worn many different types of snake boots for many years, but after moving to western North Carolina I have changed my footwear. For me snake boots just don't do well in the mountains so now I wear my Keene hikers and the turtle skins snake gaiters. I am happy with the decision so far. I'm seriously thinking of getting a pair of Crispi boots in the future.

Lacrosse and vaprtrek
I wear rubber uninsulated Lacrosse Aeroheads. I walk an average of 160 miles in turkey season then hunt a 3 month long deer season.
I used uninsulated Lacrosse Lagrange rubber boots for years with no issue but wore out the soles in 2-3 years. Switched to Alpha burly uninsulated because they are lighter, had a hiking shoe footbed and used them for a good many years. Changed from those when I started seeing cracks at the ankles after two seasons. Switched to Mucks for a while but those didn't hold up to well in the long haul. Two pair of those leaked after water got in somewhere at a rubber seam and tracked to the inside back of the heel via the neoprene. Reckon the neoprene ends there and is not sealed very well.

Irish Setter, Vaprtrek Snake Boots
This is what I wear as well. Comfortable not exactly waterproof but not heavy like a rubber boot eithier.

I have wide feet. Irish Setter makes great Waterproof Turkey boots. They stand behind them too. Had the Gore Tex breakdown after warranty elapsed. They still replaced them with brand new pair. Great, comfortable boots...
Danner pronghorn. With kuiu gaiters.

Hmm maybe I need to email customer service and see what they can do. My feet get wet from walking in the grass now

I've been wearing keen targhee II hikers the past few years, but this year I'm going with some crispi Wyoming's. I really like how well built the crispi's are.
I also have some Irish setter vaportreks that I wear occasionally.

Danner Pronghorn snakeboots if around a lot of snakes
Browning or Danner insulated if chilly
Danner uninsulated for hot weather and few snakes
Lacrosse. A set of lacrosse rubber boots generally last me about 2 turkey seasons, sometimes 3. I had the alpha mud lites when they still made them. One of my favorites . Currently have a pair of alpha lites which they have also quite making . Don't know what my next pair will be. This was my year using rubber conditioner so maybe they'll last longer . If they don't I plan on making the investment in russel moccasins and being done with it for my lifetime .
Lacrosse grange is just about the best boot for any kind of hunting if you like dry feet. Although I have some lacrosse alpha agility's coming to give them a try. Mack's PW has them on sale.

Muck boots for most things in Florida.
Murrell Moab for dry country and hiking long distances,10+ miles.

Entering my second season with these and so far I love them!
Lacrosse alphaburly pros and some insulated Rockys I've had for 10+ years when it's cold. My part of VA has timber rattlers and copperheads but encounters are few. I am as observant as possible when moving thru the woods, especially when stepping over logs and sunny spots.
Lacrosse. Just got a pair of agilitys . But the jury is still out. A little bummed on their latest offerings. I think there getting thinner and cheaper made. Lacrosse are you listening?
yes they are. I would love to have the agilitys if they made them in bottomland. Lacrosse are you listening lol....
