Has anyone tried the compact 301 with the 22 inch barrel and shorter buttstock ? I have a reg 301 w/ 26 barrel but need info on the compact   Thanks

I can be of no help. Mine is a 20 gauge, but I can't tell much difference in the patterns using the same choke and shell....

Compact stocks can be a good or bad thing... If you have a compact stock, just remember in the heat of battle with a gobbler to keep your head down on the stock, if you don't want to miss... Just ask Shane Simpson about using compact stocks and why he went back to regular stocks ...

More interested in shorter barrel thoughts. I shot over 2 birds last year with compact 11-87 ,think i lifted head---put a red dot on for this year=deadly.  I want to set up a 301 for grandson and it will have red dot. just wondering why i have not seen much on here about compact 301
