20 Gauge Turkey Guns / M2 Urbino Pistol Grip problem
Last post by twyatt - Today at 05:47:59 PM
I've read in several places that the Mesa Tactical Urbino Pistol Grip stock for the 12ga M2 fits the 20ga, but with a little overhang that can be easily sanded/filed to be flush, so I ordered one to put on my M2 20ga.
I just received it and for the life of me I can't figure out how this is supposed to fit.

I'm not talking about how you attach the bolt inside the stock, I'm talking about the front where it meets the receiver.  The back of my M2 is flat, so how is this thing supposed to sit against the gun???  What am I missing here?

Been hunting for 4 years now and killed my first bird ever this year in WV and he was a Jake. He had a funny gobble from a distance but when he got closer, he sounded like any other I've heard gobbling in the woods (maybe untrained ears still). He let out one last heart pounding gobble at about 50 yards and when his head popped out above the log he came in from behind, I didn't think twice. I was actually surprised when I grabbed him off the ground but still happy nonetheless. Cut off his short 3" beard, stubby almost none existent "spurs" and have his tail fan pinned to card board and boraxed in the garage.

I killed a Rio Jake this year by mistake. Due to a multitude of mistakes. The biggest was on me. Bubba

Turkey Guns / Re: As 12ga goes, anything out...

Quote from: soILstrutter on May 07, 2024, 11:59:34 AMI have an 870 supermag manufactured in the early 2010's. I know its no wingmaster, and I know people gripe about those years, but the gun flat out shoots a great pattern with a LB choke and 3 1/2" 5's. It has a 26" barrel, and has been extremely reliable for the last 10 years. For a while it was my do-everything gun: trap, doves, waterfowl, turkeys. Now it has a FF3 mounted and is my dedicated turkey gun. It has fired a ton of shells and keeps on performing flawlessly. I have held the nova and supernova and they seemed big and clunky to me. I have owned a synthetic turkey Mossberg 535 and it felt like a cheap plastic toy so I quickly sold it for this 870. Just my personal preference, but an 870 will be hard to beat.

I have the same gun. Flat out the best all around gun I have. Shoots a great turkey pattern. I just don't trust I can pump it reliably. Bubba

I have one week left here in WI. I have went 3/3 so far with one tag remaining. As always I will miss it but the bugs are starting to get bad and it is awfully green. I will walleye fish for about 6 weeks and then start putting stands up for bow deer season.

General Forum / As seasons end what is next

Many of us have watched our seasons come and go. For some it's been a cornucopia of dead gobblers for others it been a scratch and claw season. Some years you seem to find every suicidal gobbler in the USA and some years you find every wise stubborn gobbler that ever lived. I had one of those "stupid Seasons" if it was unforeseeably stupid it happened to me. Some of it was my fault and some of it was not, but in the end it was a stupid suicidal bird that closed my season. I was fortunate enough to fill two of three tags for two states and was around a lot of birds. I can't complain at all.

So what's next on everyone's calendars and to do list. All my elective time will be spent one of two places; at the fishing hole or in one of our gardens ( we have three). Other than watching for young broods turkeys will not be on my radar again until October. I will be back in full gear come October in both Ohio and Kentucky. I love my fall hunting and I actually think I hunt more and harder in the fall then in the spring. Post what the rest of your summer will be and what is your next most anticipated season....

Maybe they just got busy or no birds?

It will be gator hunting next along with a lot of fishing; ended up getting tags with my last choice on the tag drawing.
