I currently have a few ceramic calls and really enjoy their sound. Accordingly, I would love to add some more to the collection. So let's hear your ceramic call recommendations! Thanks in advance!
Best sounding ceramic i've heard is from Lonzo. I've got his ceramic in bubinga.
Lonzo makes a killer. But Gary Anderson (Daybreak) in my opinion makes the best ceramic.
Paul Durham also makes a mean one.
What ceramics do you currently have Tarpon? I'm waiting on one from Chad Hutcheson(stumpy) who is highly recommended by many on this site. I've carried a Daybreak the last few years and it has been excellent. Lonzo recommendations keep popping up. It's on my list.
Currently only have a Daybreak but have been talking with Stumpy and hope to add one of his to the collection shortly!
Stumpy and David Halloran are the best I have heard
I have one from (twyatt) Travis on here in a Padauk pot that's killer!!!
I'd say stumpy and Gary Anderson
I have a few BUT
Chad Hutcheson right up there very realistic sounding
Soft or loud ........
Andy Kaiser, Lonzo, Daybreak, and Stumpy are all great.
Halloran

I have Stumpy, Yingling, Misfire and a Brumfiel all weather in a acrylic pot. I like them all and don't feel I need anymore ceramic calls. I am sure all that have been mentioned are good also.

Blackstones ceramic is right up there with both Stumpy and Halloran IMO.
Stumpy's ceramic is my favorite so far.

1) Clint Corder
2) Paul Platz
3) 3 way tie between stumpy/lonzo/halloran
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the houndstooth ceramic. Its the easiest running call I own, I don't think its capable of making a bad sound.
Stumpy. Not just one of the best ceramics, but one of the best pot calls period. Even better guy to talk to and buy from. He'll treat you right.

Stumpy and Daybreak
:I got one from Paul Durham that's as good as I've heard from anybody
Stumpy ceramic is my most deadly call period,,and I'm a box call guy.
I just got a Stumpy maghogney in the mail yesterday that sounds really sweet. I also have a Schaffer lacewood/redhart ceramic that sounds good to my ear as well.
I only own the one but I really like the way it sounds, it's a Stumpy.
I have run a pile of them and Halloran and Lonzo are the best I have run .
I just want to start by saying I LOVE CERAMIC. It's without a doubt my favorite surface. I discovered it back in 2011 shortly after I got into the custom call market. I started looking for the perfect ceramic pot. I've bought pots with ceramic surfaces by Ryan Bonjour, Joe Slaton, Pappy Lewis, Andy Kaiser, David Halloran, Ricky Padgett, Paul Durham, Brad Roberts, American Strutter, John Sinclair, Jimmy Shaeffer, Kimmy Hanks, Gary Anderson, Chad Hutchinson, Lyle from Houndstooth and a couple others who's name I can't remember now. I've bought well over 20 ceramic pots looking for that perfect blend of rasp, volume, and having a great 2 note rollover in the help. I won't say a bad thing about any of them but I have only kept a few of those.
If I were to give you a top 5 list it would look similar to this.
1. Chad Hutchinson (stumpy) / Gary Anderson (daybreak)
2. Paul Durham
3. David Halloran
4. Houndstooth
5. American Strutter
Bottom Line is on every hunt either the Stumpy sycamore or the Gary Anderson padauk is in my vest. Get yourself either of those pots and you can not go wrong.
SSCustom use to make a killer ceramic. I do`nt know if he makes them now but I still have mine.
I like a Padauk from Daybreak and a Mahogany from Stumpy. One could take both calls on the same outing and not be overlapping. They sound very different and both very good in the sound they are trying to get.
I'm NOT a fan of ceramic but there's an Andy Kaiser Curly Maple ceramic in my vest as I type this. It plays super easy and has a very sharp rollover. I'd recommend that call to anyone who does or doesn't like ceramic.

I bought one back in 2011 and it was the last thing several longbeards heard before their beak hit the dirt. I passed it on to my younger brother this fall, and it will be in his vest this spring. GREAT call.

Stumpy, have two and they both are run great.
Moy Howard (dead bird walking calls) makes a sweet ceramic pot. I am not sure if he still makes calls. I will never part with this call it's awesome.
I too love ceramic. Have several but my favorite is from Nathan Taylor in a birdseye pot.
I have older Jim Shelley ceramic in a cherry pot , that i really like , and it's the first pot i starting calling on ...it's great with Fowler ...Osage top snakewood striker...
Another vote for Stumpy's ceramic sycamore. I have Paul Durham and Twyatt pots but not in ceramic and they are both great call makers
X2 Halloran
Stumpy or Anderson
