Title: Winchester SX3 Long Beard 20 Gauge Multiple Chokes Longbeard #6
Post by: Reddog1966 on March 02, 2019, 04:09:26 PM
Hey Folks,
I told you guys in my last post that I would test some Winchester LongBeard XR #6's when the weather cleared up.  Hopefully you folks find it useful.  By the way....I was out listening for birds this morning at daylight in Georgia.  They were gobbling pretty good for the first hour of daylight.  We are three weeks away from opening day!

Range-20 and 40yds were verified with a laser range finder
Firearm-Winchester SX3 Long Beard 20 gauge
Chokes- Carlson's Long Beard XR .568",Briley Factory Choke .570", and a PatternMaster Code Black .565.
Optic- Burris Fastfire iii
Ammo-Winchester Long Beard XR #6
Caldwell Lead Sled

On the target pictures the choke and ammo is listed on the bottom right of the picture.  My shotgun is sighted in using Fed TSS #7 and the Carlson's choke so you will notice a little POI change through the different chokes.

I think the Carlson's is the clear winner for me.

Thanks for posting! Makes me feel better about my decision!

Do you happen to know how big the circles are on those targets?

The outer circle is 10".  The inner is 5".
