Title: Benelli M2 / Win SX3 and long beards
Post by: camodawg on February 16, 2014, 07:02:32 PM
First off, these guns have never been deep cleaned or polished. we use them for doves, ducks and turkeys. I'm sure we could get better numbers if we did but I'm pretty happy with these numbers.
It was around 63 degrees and sunny with very little wind. I used a rangefinder and the target was at 40.5 yards from the end of the barrel.
Benelli M2 3" mag-blend through a Sumtoy .650 choke got 180 in the 10" which is on par with last year.
Benelli M2 3" shooting a #4 long beard through a Sumtoy .650 choke got 139 in the 10" circle
Benelli M2 3# shooting a #4 long beard with a .670 haymaker got  103 in the 10" circle
The Benelli has a 26" barrel.

Winchester SX3 with a 28" barrel
Shooting a .665 Indian creek choke with a 3 1/2" Hevi 13 #6 got 187 in the 10" Circle
SX3 with the indian creek .665 and a 3 1/2" #5 long beard got 180 in the 10
SX3 with a Mad Max super .675 choke and 3 1/2" #5 long beard got 141 in the 10
SX3 with a Mad Max .675 and a 3" #4 long Beard got 99 in the 10
I should have shot the #4 through the Indian creek choke instead of the mad max but we were running out of time.
I know yall like pictures but I havent taken any yet. I still have the targets and can take some and post them later if yall want.

Here is the Benelli M2 at 40.5 yds with a 650 Sumtoy and a winchester #4 long beard. the pattern has some holes in it but I thought it was pretty good for #4's at 40 yds.

That is bad for the 4's.  That is the high number for them out of our chokes as of now.

I would love to see the 3" #4 in the SX3 with the IC .665. I've got a 26" Invector plus browning that I have shot twice at 40 with the 3" LB 5's. The first time I got 203 and the 2nd I got 188, I have thought about buying a box of 4's to try.
